I woke up around 6:00 a.m. this morning with cats all around me. We got up and finished packing bags for the trip. I got another bag out to make sure my bag was under the 50 pound limit. After getting the house in order, we went over to have breakfast with Liz's parents at their hotel. I had some eggs, potatoes, sausage patties, and some yogurt.
At about 8:00 a.m., we got on the road to Chicago and O'Hare International Airport. It took about 2 and a half hours to drive to the parking lot. There was some traffic which sucks, but we got through it. We parked Liz's car at the Park-and-Fly company, which looked like a pretty secure place. The shuttle to the airport picked us up within 10 minutes and got us to the airport within another 5 minutes.
At the airport, there was no wait in the line at US Airways. So, that was nice! And security was easy for once. After security, we still had about 2-3 hours before the flight , so we at at a Chilli's ToGo in the airport terminal. There is not a lot of great food to be had at O'Hare, so that was it. I had the guiltless chicken salad and Liz a regular burger, finally away from wedding. It was filling enough, I didn't want to be too full.
The first hiccup has already happened. Our flight was supposed to leave at 1:50 p.m. and now it's 2:20 p.m. That only gives us about an hour to get on the other plane to Venice in Philadelphia's airport. More later...

(3:45 p.m.) - Chicago Time
We finally got on the plane at about 2:00 p.m. and took off around 3:00 p.m. With the time change of an hour, we will probably land in Philadelphia around 5:30 p.m. eastern time. Our plane to Venice leaves at 6:30 p.m., so we will be hard pressed to get to the gate. Looking in the US Airways magazine, it looks like the plane we are on now will land in concourse A, which is where our next plane is. At gate A24, I believe.
On the plane, I am listening to the audio book House Corrino on the iPod. I had a Diet Coke as well, which kinda helped wake me up. And I need to be awake to catch the next flight. Liz had same bloody mary mix sans the vodka. We will probably do that next flight, if we make it.
(6:05 p.m.) - Philadelphia Time
We made it! We landed in Philadelphia at exactly 5:29 p.m. My early predictions were wrong. Instead we did not land at concourse A, landed at gate B2 which was in concourse B. So, we had to run from B2 to A24, which is like a whole terminal. God bless express walkways which sped up the trip across the airport. I even got a bathroom break really fast especially since that Diet Coke wen through me fast. People are dumb. The express walkway is just that! Express! Don't stand in the walking side and don't fucking snater along, I have a plane to catch. Well, we are about to take off. I will have more from the air. It's going to be an 8 and half hour flight. I am hoping to get some sleep.
(Unknown) - Atlantic Time
We are over the Atlantic Ocean now. I can't give the time because I have no idea what it is. Looking outside the left side of the aircraft, I can see the sun setting, so it maybe 8:00 or 9:00 p.m., who knows? They served us an option of chicken or pasta for dinner. I had the pasta and Liz had the chicken. the was was kind of a casserole and the chicken was a Mexican kind. Both came with a salad, roll, and lemon cake. I was really starving at that point, so it tasted really good to me. I also had 2 Jack & Diet Cokes to slow me down and hopefully, I will get some sleep. One of the stewardess (is that what you are supposed to call them now?) is so funny. She is walking down the plane with a trash bag asking, "Rubbish? Rubbish?" and that is now my official new word for trash.

By the way, Liz and I are sitting together with no one else. The row in the plane are setup by 2 then 4 then 2. We have the 2 seats by ourselfs. We are sitting in seats F and G, so Liz has a window seat and I have a seat next to the ailse. I love seating here because I have to stand up and crack my knee now and then. Next entry will be for June 26th because of the time change.
