We woke up kinda early to get a jump start on the day. After a quick breakfast, we got off the ship and headed towards the town. It was a long walk from the boat just to get out of the port. There was a shuttle available for $4 a person that takes you up to a scenic sqaure where shopping was available, but we prefered to walk it. And it was a long walk. Corfu was a lot like Athens, as in it had a lot of that big city feel with none of the charm like Mykonos. So, there wasn't a lot of exciting things to see, but we worked our way up to a royal palace. It was kind of dissapointing, not as grand as a lot of that palaces you normally see around Europe. And it had been convereted into a Asian museum of all things. Kind of dissapointed with Corfu at that point. Liz said she had a headache and wanted to go back to the boat. Se, we did! It still took us an hour in the blazing hot sun.

Returning to the boat, we went for a quick swim in the outdoor pool. The pools have sea water in them, I don't know if I ever wrote that, but they do, the whirlpools or hot tubs, however, are fresh water. I really like how light sea water makes you, but I hate the taste even brushing against my lips. And I can't dunk underwater because when I come back up the water stings my eyes even if they are closed. just can't take that sea water.
We left the ship again after swimming for an hour. It was time for some lunch that wasn't on the ship. I needed more Greek food. We went just outside the port to a little restraurant near the water. Liz had fried calamari and I had another gyro, pork this time. We also had some more tzatziki for a starter and a 1/2 carfe of the house wine. Europe is probably the only place I feel safe ordering the house wine, it's always really good. God knows what it would be like to spend some real money and get a good wine.
The food was good and a little bit Americanized in the fact that each meal came with french fries. i could have done without that. I didn't need that kind of food. We walked back to the ship while stopping at the duty-free shop to pick up some sunscreen. We seriously under supplied the amount on sunscreeen we needed for this trip. On the boat it was time for some more swiming because the weather was so hot, it just made you want to swim and stay in the water until the sun goes down. We did that for a little while, but not until the sun dipped down over the horizon we had more to do that night.

It was a formal night again. I hate the formal nights on the boat because I wasn't born to wear a suit, give me a pair of jeans and some cons and a novelty t-shirt every time. We went to the pre-show before dinner. It was horrible! It was about ballroom dancing. I shot a few videos of the performances to show proof of how shitty it was. It was the kind of performance that you get free tickets to in Las Vegas after you stagger in drunk after losing all of your money. " I lost fifty thousand dollars!!!" "Here is two tickets to some crappy Disney songs and mediocre dancing."

But, it passed the time, and soon it was time for dinner, and not a moment to soon, we had to sit through a rendition of Save A Horse, Ride A Cowboy REMIX. That's right, a remix of that song. And it sucked as much as it sounds, but back to dinner. We had a nice white wine from our favorite vineyard, Badger Mountain, which is from Washington State. We both had the Thai BBQ chicken for dinner and a bunch of other stuff. Dinner in the dinning room has been okay, I know we skipped the last few nights, but non of the food mas made me want to comeback. It's still fun to talk to the couple across the way from us.

We returned to out stateroom after dinner. I should point out that our stateroom attendant is really weird, but nice. I mean, he has a lot broken English, so its sometimes hard to talk to him, but he does make up a towel in the room into some sort of animal like a dog or elephant or monkey hanging from an hanger. He'll tell you about the animal on your way down the hall without bringing up the subject, "Tonight, is elephant," as he smiles at you. And in a typical American response,"Okay," smile and move on into your room.
He was still really nice and kept the stateroom really clean, he must have worked a 16-hour day. We are leaving Greece tonight and heading to Croatian waters tomorrow. We have an early day when we head out to the national park.
